The Life of a Poet
Poetry is the music of the soul, and, above all, of great and feeling souls, said Voltaire. But, what is the life of a poet? Buddha said – Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart give yourself to it. So that’s one answer. But, there are as many answers to this question as there are poets in the world. And every story is potent in its way. In this panel discussion, Festival headliner poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil, festival featured poets Susan Rich and Regie Gibson, along with poet/publisher/Renaissance-man Doug Holder will share intimate details about how they came to this often difficult vocation, what sustains them, and how they negotiate their writing life with their non-writing life.
Panelist presentations will be followed by a Q & A facilitated by poet Jennifer Jean.
